Hello,

I'm back. Starting anew after a gap of nearly a year. A lot has happened between starting out at live journal all those years ago and the donning of a new avatar here at blogger! My life has changed yet I am essentially the same: restless, curious and searching for aesthetic fulfillment.

I surprised everyone and got married late last year and moved back to India after six long years abroad. Ah! It was a big decision made easy at the end by the husband who is my rock of Gibraltar. I gave up my much happening(!) single life, full of friends and freedom and social events for a quiet year in the foothills of the Himalayas. The husband was on a year’s field work and I had agreed to accompany him! I thought some time away in the midst of mother nature would rejuvenate the tired soul. Of course it had the added bonus that I was going to be close to family after such a long time away. Its not been a decision that I’ve regretted through my time here although I miss my friends and my old flat. We often grumble about how things are run in India but that is the subject for another post.

The first year of married life has been and gone and it has been full of fun and discovery and trials and adjustment! I’ve met new people, travelled a fair bit, learnt to cook, reconnected with old friends and family and settled down as they say into cosy coupledom. To think that we are three weeks away from our next move across continents makes me wonder where the year has gone . We will soon be leaving our first home behind and it will be a sad day indeed when it arrives.
