I was at livejournal before but have decided to shed my tired skin and start afresh.
What does it mean: to make a new beginning, a fresh start, a clean break, wipe the slate clean?
It made me think. Do we simply outgrow old friends, situations, places, relationships and ultimately ourselves like old clothes? Is letting go a part of growing up?
Yes, the memories of happy times remain and return in odd strains of music, in the whiff of a familiar smell, in the smiles of faded photographs, in cards, tickets and in the way we are shaped by every important encounter.
But do we ultimately need to move on to forge ahead - to what you may well ask!
Well, to the minting of new memories I say and long may that continue...
